Everyone talks about achieving HEALTHY LIFESTYLE, but most people have plenty of excuses as to why they can’t, won’t, or don’t want to change their current status. The most common excuse is "a lack of time." Have you ever said to yourself, "Oh, I’m tired, I don’t have time to exercise?" or "I don’t feel like cooking dinner tonight; let’s just get some fast food." Yes, excuses are real and they are contagious.
Time and health always seem to be at odds with each other. We have time to work, time to commute, time for our business associates, but very little time to spend on ourselves. If time not an excuse, what you could do differently today? I don't care what it is, the point is, just do something!
Here are some ideas:
- Do 15 Sit-Ups or do 10 Lunges as you making your tea or coffee, while you talk on the phone
- STRAIGHTEN YOUR POSTURE, STAND UP AND STRETCH
- WALK! – at least for 30 min’s a day. Walking is the simplest way to burn the fat and get rid of that mid section. Next time you go work park your car little in a distance so you could walk. Take a quick walks at lunch time (if is it to hot outside walk the stairs in the building or do lounges/squads)
- LAUGH (LOL with TexasOnTheGo.Com) laughter is the best medicine for staying young and healthy, great way to burn calories, move your muscles and release endorphins to feel great (endorphin naturally reduces pain, relieves stress – same goes for dancing, running, sex)
- DRINK MORE WATER, the formula is you should take a day your weight: by 2, if you weight 150lb /2 = 75 oz. of water a day, means you need to drink 9 glasses of 8 oz water. If you are a runner add 2 more glasses. Drink cold water to bust your metabolism, drink hot water to cleanse your body. You can add fresh lemon or ginger.
- PACK RAW ALMONDS FOR A SNACK, and EAT AN APPLE a day and keep the doctor away!
- RESIST THE IMPULSE PURCHASE OF A CANDY BAR, if you choose to have a chocolate – have at least 75% dark chocolate- it is good for you, full of amino acids
- SWITCH YOUR MORNING COFFEE TO HERBAL TEA. Make an habit to drink Green Tea, packed with potent antioxidants called catechins, green tea may be the single best age-defying substance you can put in your mug. Sipping just one cup a day will decrease your chances of developing high blood pressure by 46 percent; drink more and you'll reduce your risk by 65 percent.
- ONCE A MONTH DO WHOLE BODY CLEANSING, get rid of all the stuff that accumulated over the time in your body(all the waste by products from fast food, prescription drugs, etc.)
- TAKE NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENTS, our soils are 80% depleted, even if you eat healthy you not getting the nutrience your body need. So use good nutritional supplements, not over the counter
- EAT SMART and colorful – prepare your weekly meal plan, eat slowly, put your fork down after every bite, chew your food at least 20 times )
- DECLUTTER – your home, office, car, your mind, and your guts - in the clean environment you have clarity and focus, calm and functional.
- SMILE OFTEN, be generous - complement someone on the elevator or grocery store, if your cashier looks grumpy – ask how he/her day have been/ be genuine
- MAKE SOMEONE’S DAY by wishing them a great day
- GIVE YOUR SELF A QUIET TIME, TURN OFF YOUR CELL PHONE AND ELECTRONICS ONCE A WEEK
- MEDITATE 5-10 min a day to relax your mind and body
- GET MASSAGE REGULARLY (helps improve blood circulation, relax your mind, body and spirit)
- TAKE A DEEP SLOW BREATHS. Breath is our most valuable asset that we take for granted sometimes – take deep breaths trough your nose
- ATTEND POSITIVE TALKS, SURROUND YOURSELF WITH HAPPY PEOPLE
- PRACTICE POSITIVE THINKING/AFFIRMATIONS/WHAT WE THINK – THAT’S WHAT WE CREATE
- HUG - 12 hug a day is a blessing, start with your closer co-worker
- TAKE CARE OF YOUR SKIN - biggest organ in our body and most neglected – keep it moisturize, instead of bar soap use liquid soap – it washes off better
- TAKE CARE OF YOUR HAIR – CLEAN AND NICE HAIR DO MAKE AN GOOD IMPRESSION
- DRESS TO FEEL GOOD, even if is Friday – when you feel good you look good, and you can look good to make you feel good
When YOUR body, mind, and soul work together, you’re healthy. When they don’t, you’re at greater risk for health problems. Find something you really enjoy doing, It’ll also be more successful if it’s done with a partner—someone who’ll motivate you to stick with the exercise. Creating a healthy lifestyle doesn't have to mean drastic changes. In fact, drastic changes almost always lead to failure. Making small changes in how you live each day can lead to big rewards, so figure out what you can to be healthy today.
