Probably you have had no idea that on March 8, 2010 people around the world commemorate the 100th Anniversary of International Women's Day.

In 1910 women from 17 countries gathered in Copenhagen to vote for a Women's Day, a global celebration of the economic, social and political achievements of women past, present and future. According to the United Nations women today do 66% of the world's work, produce 50% of its food, but earn only 10% of global wealth and own only 1% of property.

This year United Nations theme is "Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities: Progress for All". 

With Texas Business Women: Stories To Tell we, at TexasOnTheGo.Com, want to offer this tribute to Texas Business Women from the past, the present and the future.

You may wonder about the economic difficulties of the recent recession, the lack of support and understanding from families and friends, the hard work of being mother, wife and business owners. 

I can assure you the 17 women we are spotlighting had much more in their plates than most of us. They represent the milestone of today’s women entrepreneurial courage.  Some of them were born in Texas.  Some others got here as soon as they could.  But all of them symbolize the real entrepreneur spirit.

And yes, they did it! Think about it!
