 The slow recovery rate of the economy is negatively impacting the financial status of many companies. The number of small businesses reporting difficulties in accessing capital and credit lines has increased dramatically in the last 12 months. Many small businesses do not realize how the market directly impacts their finances and ultimately the success of their company. Timely access to capital can be the difference between being in business or going out of business.
Many companies consider their banking institutions to be the primary, or perhaps only, source for financing. In light of the current economy, most banks are extremely cautious when it comes to meeting their customers’ financial needs, even though their client may have an impeccable credit history. Customers’ lines of credit have been reduced and in some cases credit lines have been closed, regardless of the positive cash flow of their business. New bank procedures are adversely impacting business operations directly and may diminish possibilities for continued growth.
